Wines and Dines Customers with an Experience at the Biltmore

The Objective: UPI worked with a grocery retail client to expand its e-newsletter customer base, drive customers to the retailers wine department, increase the value of Biltmore™ Wines and cross promote Biltmore wines with a variety of the retailer’s products.

The Program: Universal Promotions integrated an in-store wine promotion with an online consumer sweepstakes known as “Home for the Holidays". UPI recommended that the retailer and Biltmore Wines create an in-store display that would include wine bottle neck-hangers. The neck-hangers would promote the sweepstakes and drive customers to the retailer’s website for additional food and wine parings. Additionally, the sweepstakes and in-store displays would generate incremental sales to the retail store.

UPI’s sweepstakes team was responsible for the development of the program, sweepstakes administration and all program fulfillment requirements. This included all IT aspects, as well.

The Success Story: The “Home for the Holidays” sweepstakes increased the retailers e-newsletter enrollments, drove customers to the retailers in-store wine department and increased sales all while strengthening and enhancing the image of the retailer’s quality wine selection.
